BPPV article -- Thank You

I want to thank Dr Tufty for this article. smiley - smiley I've had these symptoms, mostly in a mild form, for several years. I have learned to avoid head movements that cause the worst effects and to tolerate any nausea that I still experience. When this started I saw my doctor but he was unable to suggest any treatment: "it was something I would have to live with". At the time, I thought it could be stress-related, so the "treatment" was to try not to be so stressed. I also have occasional migraines, and I wondered if these were connected.

The sense of dizziness for me is exactly as described, with the addition that I sometimes get dizzy when tilting my head forward, e.g. to look over my glasses at my computer keyboard.

Having read the article, which I only saw by chance on the h2g2 home page (what are the chances of that?), I shall try self treatment using the Epley manoeuvre. Failing that, a trip to my GP.

Great stuff 3dBloke! Glad you stumbled on the article. ANd as we always say, please do see a GP first as h2g2, although a mine of fascinating information, is not a definitive medical resource. Good luck and a very warm welcome to h2g2smiley - ok

Yep, definitely try the GP first. An ENT referral might be in order.
