Pu-239 half life correction
JD Started conversation Jul 26, 2004
I've been forgetting to correct this, but as I'm recently developing an article on explaining the different units/methods for measuring the amounts and effects of radioactivity, I immediately started with this article and re-noticed a slight error for the HL of Pu-239. It's about 24,000 years, in fact - not 10,000 years (unless that was just meant as a order-of-magnitude type estimate).

Pu-239 half life correction

It was originally meant as an order-of-magnitude 'get the picture' number. But I guess 24,000 will also do, and is more accurate
Thanks,
HELL
