Origin of Superglue

I once heard (I don't remember where from) that superglue was originally used to bond body tissue together to speed up front-line surgery on US casualties in the Vietnam war.
It sounds plausible - does anyone know if this is true?

The inference you are refferring to is from dog soldier when cooper tells his seargent that and then uses it for that purpose. i'm not sure whether it is true or not but i know at the minute that they use a glue called dermabond in hospitals for that purpose
