Don't fear the reaper...

Cronos lives on in many ways: the astrological symbol for the planet Saturn  preserves a lot of his associations, of the passage of time, ageing, death, and the metal lead. Astrologically, Saturn also governs transformations (death and rebirth)and is thought to hold the secret of alchemical transformation of lead into gold.
Chronos/Saturn is also the second largest planet in the solar system - the idea of being cast into the outer darkness of Tartarus, as for so long, in fact most of human history, this was the furthest known planet from Earth.
Possibly because of its associations with "heavy metal" and an ironic take on the idea of the alchemical process (turning lead - heavy metal - into gold)two heavy rock bands ran with the Chronos ball: Led Zeppelin (self-explanatory) and the Blue Öyster Cult, who use the hok-and-sickle Chronos symbol as the band emblem, and whose greatest hit was "don't Fear The Reaper"
A variant of the Chronos symbol is the astrological symbol for the sign Capricorn - ruled by Saturn.
