h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

For this you will need:

A: A TV with at least one music channel.

B: A CD player and a selection of seriously hard rock, or lots of gothy music.

C: Lots of drunk friends who will find this funny.

The aim is to find a video for a really soppy bit of pop music, we found Nelly Fertando's "I'm like a bird" then quickly hit the mute button as the music starts, and slam on something scary. We found a nice Marylin Manson song.

The effect in the end is fantastic. Especially when drunk. Why Marylin Manson wastes his time creating those nightmarish scenarios is beyond me, seeing Nelly sing it against an idyllic country background is way more disturbing...

I've never done this at a party. I'm usually either on the floor drunk or feebling trying to pull someone. However I do like to keep up to date with the music world by watching TOTP. Since this doesn't always contain a representitive of the best music in the charts (I prefer "Later..." myself) I often put on mute and stick on music during the rubbish songs. My personal favourite so far was watching Westlife appearing to scream in terror along to some particularly nasty Nine Inch Nails album tracks. Bwahahahaha!
