What a thoroughly good entry I used to train myself - did so (semi) regularly from the age of 18 until mid-late 30's when a spot of post viral syndrome knocked me sideways. On a bad day, even climbing a flight a flight of stairs can leave me doubled up and gasping for breath On a good day I cycle to work and back
I found the "biological value" section on protein interesting. I noticed that some of the foods mentioned in the list, namely oats, rice, peas, whole wheat, and beans (other than soya beans) are not complete proteins, and therefore will not help you to build muscle unless combined with other protein sources. It might be helpful to readers to include something about complete and incomplete proteins, and why the body needs complete proteins
