A Conversation for Applying to University

I say that unless you know people in the town where the uni is, you should live in university accommodation to avoid bother. Without being able to see where you'll be first, it's too risky to go with a private landlord (there have been stories in the Leeds Student newspaper about students being fobbed of with really bad accommodation, in some cases blatantly unsafe places). Not that uni-owned accommodation is perfect, but they can hopefully be relied upon not to put profits ahead of your safety. Well, not that far ahead.
Please note, I don't have it in for letting agencies; most are good, it's just a few let the side down.
