Remote controls were invented to revive the dying sport of tug-o-war and bring it into the home environment. There are no spectator galleries or large silver trophies to be won when playing this version.
However, there is no greater satisfacion obtainable than that felt by winning remote control tug-o-war. Thus becoming the most influential and powerful person in the household.

I'd love a chance to play remote control tug of war, but I can never find the damn things. They're always down the back of the settee, in the magazine rack or under the video. Never where I need them to be. I think they must be semi-sentinent and prone to wandering.

I don't believe in tugging on one's remote controls. They are devices of technological mastery and should be treated with the respect and devotion they deserve. And be sure to rub them to keep them warm.

I find RC's also have an understandable urge to return to the mother ship. This means that they're usually found ON TOP of the item that they control. This somewhat negates their usefulness, and as an evolutionary strategy probably means that they'll be extinct within half a dozen generations.

At least in the old days all you needed to do to find the remote was to follow the safety rope from the video to the remote...
