Very interesting article. I've always been interested to learn more about Islam, as I believe most accusations thrown at it, and other religions, is more due to the culture of the region, then the religion.
Well done.

Great job!

Excellent entries.

I've been attempting to learn more about Islam over the past few years, as I believed that the media, on both sides of the argument, must be distorting the true picture. These entries have confirmed some of the understanding I'd built up and provided a lot more information as well. Thank you very much.smiley - ok

For the record, I'm a Christian, and it seems to me that the teachings of Mohammed are fairer to women than those of St Paul in the New Testament. There are some fundamentalists who'll disagree, of course.smiley - sadface

Don't get me started on St Paul. I'm a Christian too, but like the article was saying, the culture of the time and place were imprinted onto the religious practices.

Great job!

This deserved all three spots on the front page. It has taken me two days to read it. It is a subject that deserves the epic treatment: and you written one.

Reports of the death of Islamic scholarship in the media are clearly greatly exagerated.

Thanks for all the replies people. I am glad so many people have taken the time to read it all, and have liked it.

This is my best entry I have ever written, and I am really pround with how its turned out, thanks for the compliments about it, I wont let it go my head.

Hopefully I can fine another topic to write on to the same degree of depth.

May I be the next to congratulate you on a well formulated, logical and clear entry.
I have had MANY of my questions answered, in addition to opening my eyes to the Islamic faith.

Commendations!
