A Conversation for How Not to Name Children

My mother must have hated her kids!!!
My older brother has changed his middle name from Robin to Robert, I was 'blessed' with the name Rachelle, no not Rachel or Rochelle! I've lived hearing this all my life, was that Rachel ?
Also my next sister was Delia Nora, poor child, my two younger sisters have 3 middle names each, both being from different fathers they both are named after there fathers, Franchelle (Frank-Michelle) and the youngest one has the name Roberta- ugh, in fact out of all of us only my next sister in age to me escaped the curse with Sarah Louise, (lucky girl)!
When my son was born I had to name him with a more 'normal' name so I called him Joshua, the only problem being there are so many that at playgroup and nursery he is constantly Joshua W.
Anyway in November I am having a new baby and any input on my chosen names would be gratefully recieved, they are for a girl Katie Ellen Whalley and Joseph Paul Whalley for a boy, is there anyone who would say these are to popular or too unusual please let me know!

You might want to avoid having two J. Whalleys - good for economy on name tags but confusing when post comes.
And don't forget what the initials spell - KEW (gardens)- but that's actually quite a pleasant one.
Also try saying first & last name or initial & last name like a roll call.
I found it very difficult to choose names for my two children & spent a lot of time imagining how they might be shortened, saying them out loud & so on.
It's funny how some names sound good for a child but not an adult & vice versa.
Anyway, hope all goes well!

Thanks for the advice,
The 2 J. Whalley thing is actually a family tradition, my husbands sisters kids are Zoe and Zara for example, I actually agree with you but do'nt have much say in that one!
