Back in the late sixties and early seventies when I first read John Creasey books he was very popular and so when I rediscovered them in the late nineties I was appalled to find how few were in print or even held in my local library. Second-hand bookshops and more recently Ebay has meant that my collection has grown to about 150 titles. My favourite series being “Gideon”, “Inspector West” and “The Toff”.
His output was not only phenomenal but also of such a high standard. The “Creasey Phenomena” is surely worthy of a TV programme when one thinks of all his other interests and activities. Photos and film must surely exist to illustrate such a programme, which could cover his extensive travelling, social and political campaigning, as well as all his writing achievements.
Such is the power of television that perhaps publishers would then be more encouraged to re-publish his books. Also, as a welcome change to the police dramas of today, TV companies may bring “Gideon”, “Inspector West” and “The Toff” to our TV screens.
Anyway, thank you for all the information on your site, which I first discovered in October 1999, when it was in a slightly different guise. It was instrumental in helping me re-awaken my interest in John Creasey.

As you can see I have only just got round to looking at h2g2 posts. Great to see your post and enthusiasm for Dad's work. You'll be pleased to know that the Toff will be back in print from June 1st. See www.johncreasey.com. And I am trying hard to get some television and films based on his books. But that is so MUCH easier said than done! Best Richard
