My ex-husband used to get so annoyed with the moles in our garden that he tried to drown them. He would leave the hose on ALL night. It did get rid of the moles. 
but I was not happy about the fact he was trying to kill them. It was also a waste of water. He tried bashing them over the head with a shovel as well.
I cast a 
spell on the hole and they went away after I asked them to. Obviously my method was better, because it gave the moles a chance. It usually lasted about a year.
