I cannot believe (on H2G2 of all places) this article doesn't mention the Inifinite Improbability Drive.
This wonderful device used to avoid 'all that tedious mucking about in hyperspace' and to find interesting articles, supposedly relied on the Brownian Motion contained within a nice cup of hot tea and a Finite Improbability Generator to come into existence.

And tea, being a suspension of particles in a hot liquid is a very effective brownian motion generator!
