Just a quick note to say you have my sympathy. I had a brain tumour back in 1981, treated by radiotherapy and a shunt to drain fluid from the brain. The tumour was near the optic nerve, which means my eyes aren't quite 20/20 any more. 
But I have to be grateful to be able to lead a normal life - a friend of mine had haemorrhages (sp?) which lead to epilepsy, and a neighbour had a cancerous brain tumour... anyway, just to let you know there are others out there,
