Yes, yes, yes - John Barry's music is fantastic. However - for some time I have been trying to track down a great piece of music from Midnight Cowboy, which was also used as the theme for early eighties BBC programme "Wildtrack". Now some people say that this piece was John Barry............some say Henry Mancini. It appears on no albums by either of them as far as I can make out.......can anyone shed anylight on who the composer is, and where I can find it?

The IMDb lists the music for Midnight Cowboy as being composed by John Barry.
Your best bet for finding it would be to try and get hold of the score for the film, which is available online if you can't find it in a shop.

The harmonica theme is indeed by John Barry, so a bit of omission on my part when looked at like that.

The track is 'Florida Fantasy' from the soundtrack of Midnight Cowboy. Apart from 'Wildtrack', it was also used by the BBC as the theme for some of its radio cricket coverage of England on tour.
