I liked the brief intro, I've not previously heard of him so it's worked and I've searched for more.

Any advice on what to start with and where is best online?

Personally I think the best place to start is by reading one of his novels ( Post Office may be the best one to start with ) before tackling any of his poetry, purely because that is the way that got me intrested in his work. As for on line resources, there are quite a few but one of the better one is :-
