I don't drink Coffee. Mater of fact I don't consume a lot of imported/foreign goods, unless you count Altoids.
The same people that grow Coffee, grow Cocca plants. Sometimes it's grown in the same place to camoflage it from the air. The truly poor people of the world have only their governments, and themselves to blame. Armed revolt did wonders for my country not to long ago. I suggest that whoever wrote that go to columbia and organize a farmers co-op or union or somthing , instead of trying to make people feel guilty about what they chose to eat and drink. I could never have any sympathy for people who's crop rotation, includes the manufacture of poison that finds it's way into America's children. If I ever meet a cofee grower in person, I am going to stick my foot in his @ss.

Hi Razorback!
Thanx for your input/views on my atricle, it is always interestng to find out other peoples views.
Certainly all coffee growers aren't involved in the production of cocaine, other wise coke would be as cheap as coffee, and I for one would be able to afford it ,ore often than I do!
By blaming the poor of the world for causing their own problems shows a very poor understanding of the principals of free trade and corrupt governments being supported by countries such as the US to keep them in power by force and oppression so they can purchase goods cheaply.
Advocating an armed revolution is niether a realistic ,or sensible solution to offer the oppressed of the world, unless you like the idea of people going around killing each other to argue their point. And in this day and age a if country that supplies the states has a revolution/coup thern america will often step in to prop up a corrupt regime to keep it's trade links, see Grenada, nicuragua, philipines, haiti, etc. etc,.
my Intention in this article was not to make people feel guilty, it was to provide information to assist readers in making an informed choice on one way that they can assist the oppressed and down trodden communties who are usually exploited and kept in poverty by big business and governments, corrupt or otherwise. Rather than going to columbia and organising an armed revolution, I think someones beaten me to this anyway. I prefer to support these communities by purchasing their products at a small premium and informing other people of the benefits you can make to the oppressed and downtrodden of this planet.
I'm not going to reply to your last two sentences as they only seem to reinforce the image of yourself as a person of depressingly low intelligence whoi attempts to make up for their inferiority complex by being violent to others. Seems like the typical american red - neck to me!

Hey your right about columbia being in kind of an armed flux. Their all communists, the revolutionaries that is. In the philipines and down in oceania they are all islamic. If you are neither of these things, and you keep trying to heft the worlds sympathy on people who want to destroy your way of life. If you like living in a free society where you are free to say what you want, when and how you want to, you need to quit turning you distain on those who made it possible. Rednecks like me have been dieing for freedom and your country since 1914 . You should thank those big corporations they may be the ones who made the tanks and machineguns that made you way of life a reality. You also touched upon the typicle british quailty of underestimating Americans. I have a BS in engineering, and I am working on my Masters, how much education does your bucktoothed limey @ss have ?

Thanx Razorback!
But I have perfect teeth and no fillings!
Following a few of your other postings I think you need to tone down your unnecessarily offensive comments, otherwise people reading your posts might just hit the "yikes" button to alert the moderators!!
and a small factual point on your last point, yourcountry did not get invovlved until 1917.
I will not be adding further posts here as they have got off the original subject heading of coffee. For conversations that are more up your street try 'ask h2g2' http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F19585
