A Conversation for Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer - Comedians
Sun Boiled Onions (1999)

Another solo project from Vic, this art book seems a long time coming considering virtually every series he's appeared in has included his drawings and sketches. From the scribbles on the Man with the Stick's helmet to the massive canvas illustrations that were involved in almost all of the songs in "Smell" - this is the culmination his talent and includes paintings and black & white sketches drawn in Vic's surreal manner.
His work instils a great deal of his humour on to a single page, with a great number of fantastic, and grotesque, caracatures of various celebrities - notably Elvis. Elvis receives a diary charting several weeks before his demise - but there are also images of Michael Jackson, Abba, Henry VIII, Eric Morecombe, Richard Nixon and a self-portrait to round things off.
A fascinating insight into the bizarre workings of a creative mind right out there on the edge.
The title seems to be a favourite of Vic's as it appeared in "Smell" I believe as part of a market-seller's chant that transformed from a cry of "Sun Boiled Onions" into "Paul Daniels".
