A Conversation for World's Most Beautiful Buildings

Bradbury Building, Los Angeles

Post 1

PANAMA

The Bradbury is just about one hundred years old. Unimposing outside, spectacular inside. It is often used as the setting for spookie movies, with the help of a lot of artificial smoke. It is characterized by a full height interior atrium (seven stories, I think) lacework cast iron ballustrades, marble stairs and a really nifty open elevator. It is across the street from the old Metropolitan Water District building which is ornate on the outside but does not live up to the promise inside.

The Bradbury is a real jewel.
