A Conversation for The Joy of Socks

The French art of wearing socks

For those who are lucky enough to have a real French among their friends...
Have you noticed that propensity that French men have [students, computer nerds and respectable (or not) businessmen in their mid-forties alike] to wear the funniest and worst-taste socks, with sailing boats, cartoon caracters or Christmas trees on them ?

Very surprising for a people that, in other times, practically invented fashion...

Pheroneous

Well I have my reservations about the French as fashion victims. Some, indeed, may lead the field, but the huddled masses are just as badly attired as pretty well every other Nation. Except the English, of course, whose shambolic approach to matters sartorial has, indeed, to be seen to be believed!

I shall be sure to examine closely the ankles of every passing French male when next in France!
