That's funny - I'm sure I saw a documentary on that recently that claimed that it had the opposite effect - it opened IKEA up to huge numbers of new customers. In fact they embarked on a new store building / opening spree shortly thereafter didn't they?

Just as an aside, has everybody forgotten the whole IKEA nazi sympathizer connection? What ever happened to that mess? Did it blow over?
