Funny you should mention the Stokowski: I've just bought the Transcriptions for my partner, who likes Bach but hates the organ, so this was a good pressie. Magnificent stuff.

Yes, I agree, although personally I DO like church organs! I guess that's because my father was an organist and choirmaster and I grew up with the sound of spotted metal pipes resounding in my ears!
The Stokowski is a wonderful example of how to take an already excellent piece and improve on it though.
