Like all truly useful inventions computers are based on a number of prior inventions including : the abacus, Babbages calculator, the loom, the coffee pot,and Rubik's cube.
OK, Rubik's cube came later, but think of the future.
Computers that accept voice command, or potentially as in some futuristic sci fi movies, sticks that are inserted into jack points in our heads, that have downloadable data, or can control a computer with thought processes.(telepathy).
And from there have you seen the movie Lawnmower Man, why not download ourselves as digital data, and roam around a virtual universe.? You really want to be paying your own power bill when that happens.!
