A Conversation for Binomial Theorem

So... you're more likely to be hit by an asteroid than to win the lottery?

Does this mean that there are asteroid-related fatalities nearly every week? After all, most weeks someone manages to win the lottery...

Or have I interpreted that bit wrong?

(nice article, by the way)

I think somebody somewhere did a calculation that suggested that if an asteroid impact did happen, lots and lots of people would win that particular "lottery", i.e. auto-vaporise, and so, equalised over 100,000 years or so, the numbers affected would be greater than all the lottery winners put together. Or something like that. smiley - smiley

Another researcher has mentioned the Moriarty connection with respect to the Binomial Theorem. It should also be noted that Professor Moriarty was also the author of a work called 'The Dynamics of an Asteroid'.
