The Nestlé ones are available all over Western Europe (and probably in several more countries).

Miranda, you're right. Their website says they're headquartered Avenue Nestlé 55, CH-1800 Vevey, Switserland.

Smarties are available in Canada as well. Several years ago I sent my son to Church Camp - and he learned to play poker. The coinage used? Smarties! What can I say - his mother learned how to pick locks at Church Camp.

Canadian Smarties are Nestles, and in a flat box. I have seen them in tubes, but you don't see them often - usually at service stations.

In the US Smarties are small, tart chalky candies sold in celophane wrapping. Like Sweet Tarts, if you know what they are like. No chocolate involved whatsoever .
