h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

One we played when I was a kid was Steal the bacon. Two teams would line up each member having a number (i.e. 1, 2, 3, etc) and "the bacon" would be on the ground between the two teams. It would be a hat, a scarf, etc. Someone would call a number (or numbers) and the people with those numbers would come out and try to get the "bacon" without being tagged by their opposite number, and then run back behind their sides lines to win the point. We played it a lot in the boy scouts and sometimes at school (if I remember). That was back in the 1970's and early 80's.
