today myself and my husband went out for lunch as we often do on sundays
he is a great lover of cheese , often is the time he will opt for the ploughmans lunch option on the menu and then waits in anticipation for a great cheese platter pickles and crusty bread to arrive . i feel as an onlooker to his passion i should find out what other people think towards this subject because more often than not we leave the pub or restaurant dissappointed usually because he enda up with a block of cheddar with hardly any taste a granny smith and a few pickles out of a standard jar and a curled up cibatta roll should this not oppitomise the true british lunch with a pint of real ale so why an ittallian bread with no substance , this seems toi be a trend for most bub chains at the moment to fill your plate with as much rocket leaves as they can cram in to make the dish look fuller . where is the englishnes when you get a pack of flora margerine and french brie what do other people think surely we should keep our english pub traditions or before long we will be getting snails sourkrout and borche on our english ploughmans
