Thanks for the article - I had intended to do something similar myself, but was too closely involved and couldn't bring myself to do it. There is still a lot not understood about hydrocephalus - there seems to be a regional link, which may be due to genetic types. For some time it was thought that Celtic/Brythonic groups had a higher than average likelihood of showing the disease than many other groups, but I don't know what the current thinking is - my info is based on being part of a survey group about 25 years ago.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

Speaking as someone who first had to have a shunt as an adult, I found that they were nothing but problems, and do not provide an perminant solution, at least for adults who develop this through head trauma. Having said which, eveentually, a year after first having it put in, and 4 revisions later, I had it removed due to infection, but they found it had begun draining CSF naturally and my ICP was normal, so I haven't got oa shunt now, which is good
