most of us will not admit it for the world but we actually do pay attention to the advertisements......the commercials have gotten quite good at being humorous, i mean take the budwieser frogs for instance, you cannot tell me that the scene with the frogs tongue stuck to the back of the truck as it drives down the road is not even a little bit funny
of course we also have those famous folgers commercials that became something of a miniseries where the handsome stranger and the beautiful woman kept meeting under strange circumstances, these actually turned into little romance books
the list goes on and on but i will stop at those two examples of how advertising works

What you might not know about the folgers commercials is that they were originally broadcast in the UK, and the coffee was 'Gold Blend'. It was redone for America using the same two actors.

Sad to say, it did become rather soap-operaesque as it went on, even to the extent of there being adverts in newspapers telling people to tune into the ad-break during the news to see the new commercial.

Sometimes I despair.

i knew that the came from the UK but did not know what the name of the coffee they advertised there was it was quite sad though because even here on our local news broadcasts they told you to stay tuned for the new commercial and they even had write-ups about the commercials in our local paper it amazes me how bored some people really are i mean you must be to look forward to a couple of actors sharing coffee

let me add to that last posting of mine.....it is more than just a case of boredom....it is also a case of very good advertising, i mean they managed to make everyone remember their product whether it was because you were looking forward to the next "episode" or just plum amazed at the stupidity of it.....we all know the name of the product and that is all they want in the end
