Ode to Cats
Stealthily stalking
Or gingerly walking
Cavernously yawning
Or playfully fawning
A near perfect design
The mischievous feline
Loudly yowling
With belly growling
Tail flicking
And ears a pricking
Nowhere is an animal so fine
As the remarkably bewhiskered, attentive feline
Distinctly aloof
One hundred percent proof
Cruel by trait
With patience to wait
Foe of both mouse and rat
The ever watchful and pretentious cat
Decadently debonair
Invariably aware
With claws sheathed
Extended when peeved
Asleep on bed, cushion or mat
The wonderfully slothful, hypnotic cat
