A Conversation for Self-reference
Is this art or just ripping off tourists?

In Bourton-on-the-Water (a small village in the Cotswold Country in England) there is a model village. Actually it is a model of Bourton-on-the-Water itself.
In the appropriate section of the model village there is a model of the model village, and within the model of the model there is a model of the model of the model (not too confusing)
So is this self-reference in Art or just a confusing tourist attraction?

Whatever its commercial intentions, it is certainly self-reference. But I'm not the expert, I only know what I learnt from the entry. I don't see how the artistic quality of anything detracts from its self-referencing properties.

Indeed, self-reference may heighten the artistic value. Or deepen the meaning. Or broaden the impact. Or narrow the
scope. And the art no doubt enhances any self-reference. Or not.

If the OP posted a letter to himself, presumably it would eventually end up where the oojalum bird did. If you looked closely, you could see it being delivered inside the model, and thne inside the model inside the model, and so on.
Of course, it would take an infinitely long time to get there. Come to think of it, that could explain a lot about the postal service. (And socks.)
