Sorry but the market is NOT held on sundays outside town; there is a splendid regular market on Shoplatch/Bellstone - it's hidden inside the admittedly hideous brick building with the clocktower on top, built sometime in the 60s I think when the townplanners were buggering about with everything.
It's well worth seeking out; it's on 5 days a week (not mondays) though some stalls only do half a day on thursday, and it's best on fridays & saturdays. Lots of fantastic butchers, several good veg stalls, poultry & game, an excellent fish stall with a seafood bar, and the usual mixed odd things from giant pants to camouflage gear. One of the best markets anywhere!

Hum, indeed. The outside market is indeed held on a Sunday in Harlescott, but the regular indoor market goes on all week and is pretty good. I bought a chicken there only yesterday.
