I was wondering if anyone had found Put Downs any good when dealing with Difficult People - or is that just like adding oil to the fire...

My mother recommends "silent contempt" - when I was little (8) I had no idea what she was on about. The problem is that Silent Contempt doesn't have the satisfaction of a good put down. Then there is also "the look"....
