I think one of the proudest moments of my gaming life was finishing Infocom's Hitchhikers. Some of the things were so complex, and so much pain and work to get that darn babel fish. The game was just superb with all the fluff and the No tea.
I really loved Bureaucrasy too, though could never get past the paranoid guy at the bottom of the fortified house. I'd love to know what the trick with that was.

The paranoid guy in Bureaucracy will ask you a series of questions that can only be answered by the booklet that came with the game (now available in the Infocom/Activision books that come with the collections.)
I do remember that I finished Hitchhiker's Guide, but I don't remember whether I was able to do anything with the ball of fluff. (The Guide will tell you that there are four pieces of fluff in the Universe. When they are combined they'll become a seed - some sort of super-special tree or something. I never could find a place to plant the fluff seed.)

Now I remember...
But I won't say anything about it unless somebody wants a hint or something - I hate to be a spoiler!

I don't think anyone else is here, so you can spill the beans!

Well, if it's just you and me...
During your adventures with the Infinite Improbability Drive, you'll discover four pieces of fluff. Some are hard to find, some are rather easy to find. When you get them all together, wad them up in a ball. Somewhere you 'll find a flowerpot (I don't remember where - it's been a while!) Stick the fluff in the pot and put the flowerpot in the sauna, and wait. (I remember getting stuck on this - I knew that the fluff needed water, but I couldn't think of where I was going to find it. The Nutrimatic wouldn't give me any more tea ("You still haven't drunk the last cup I gave you!"). Eventually I realized that I needed to put it in the sauna. When you take it out later, there's a plant with a fruit on it. Eat the fruit, and you're ready to go out on the desolate plains of Magrathea. The game then promises you that there's more games to come, but I haven't seen anything of that, unfortunately.

I started playing Bureaucrasy, but couldn't get past the paraniod guy, there was not book in the collection I bought, I've asked on the internet in a few places but to no avail, I've looked on the internet but cannot find the actuall answers people have directed me to places the ones I've been to, and even a place that tells you what some of the things said that came with the game but still the actuall answers are not there,
any help
and I'm looking for the answers themselves,
I'l post the questions if you think you can help,
thanks

The questions are randomly generated each time you play the game - I think it'll give you the same set of questions each time if you're loading up a saved game, but I'm not sure.
Go ahead and post your questions, and I'll look for my Infocom book. The answers will be totally illogical - like "how do they know so much about you?" The answer to that is 'garbage.' Stuff like that.
P.S. Once you get past that point, (or actually, from the very moment you start the game) look for postage stamps on envelopes. Collect them - they'll come in handy.

I did open a save game in wordpad and some of the answers were there I think, such as automatic teller machines, cable tv, garbage, national football leauge, ohio, delware, but I assumed the answers would suit the question but here's some of the questions
what left-wing organisation foiled the coup d'etat directly after the assassination of john F kennedy, leading to decades of crypto-communist goverment in america
what chemical is the international health conspiracy using to destroy our valuable body fat
what do ronald wilson ragan, daniel miguel ortega, dwight eugene gooden and johnny herman carson have in commen ( and are a menace because of it).
where is the centre of communist insurgency in the united states
what are the mexicans unleashiing on the united states for refusing to grant mexaco a major-league baseball franchise
the existence of which one of the fifty states of the union is a fiction invented by the trilateral commision for its own nefarious purposes
what well-meaning legislation was actually a commonist-inspired plot to destroy the american family
who is their leader
how are the dentists of america comspiring to destroy the minds of our chrildren
thanks

Pretty silly, huh? If you're interested in obtaining the complete paperwork, check out your local computer sidewalk sales (kind of like garage sales; everybody gets together and sells their old software and old computers.)
Have fun! - Lentilla

Thanks very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very much
I have now got passed that bit, there were a couple of more answers I needed which I knew, sort of, I opened up a save game as a wordpad document and in all the squares comma's and rubbish were the answers at the time i thought, such as ohio, atm, cable, yogurt and such, but at the time i assumed that they answers would fit the question, I've just looked again and GI bill and killer bees and queen munm are there too, but if you haddn't of said which answers and question go together I'd of never of made it.
now i just have to remeber what I waas doing in the game
thanks

No problemo!
You might want to start from the beginning again; there are several inconsequential events that actually turn out to be kind of important - the llama feed arriving at your door in the first few minutes of the game, for example.

Hey! I appreciate how on top of their game the moderators are; I just wish that sometimes they weren't quite so quick at removing these URLs.
Oh well, thanks for trying! I'll go to my favorite search engine and type in 'new hitchhiker's game' - it should get me there eventually.
