A Conversation for Benjamin Franklin
Epitaph
Bellman Started conversation Jun 2, 2003
Just read a computer manual which had Franklin's epitaph as its frontispiece - should be centred and in a nice graven script:
The body
Of
Benjamin Franklin
Printer
(Like the cover of an old book
Its contents torn out
and stript of its lettering and gilding)
Lies here, food for worms.
But the work shall not be lost
For it will (as he believed) appear once more
In a new and more elegant edition
Revised and Corrected
By
The Author
I can't vouch for its accuracy but it rings true.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
