I have muted this idea before but with little reaction. Is it possible that Mars once had one large moon, the gravitational pull creating techtonic plates and the volcanos?
When the moon was destroyed leaving tiny phobos and deimos the plates ground to a halt leaving extinct volcanos, How else could they get there?
