A Conversation for Items to Take with You when Visiting Friends Abroad
Hawaii

Hawaii, though part of the US, has it's own ah, delicacies that we away from home pine for:
Li Hing Mui and other plum-based oriental candy/ snackthings, Li Hing Mui seasoned Gummi Bears / Worms, Spam Musubi (think fried Spam in a sushi-type configuration), real sushi (i.e. no sashimi... not what they serve in california sushi bars), Sashimi (raw fish, which you can get but it's the nasty stuff that they can't sell anywhere else and you pay out the nose for it), Poke (fish or octopus (typically raw) in a chopped mix of tomatoes, green onions, seaweed, and soy-based sauce), Non-Kikoman Soy Sauce, Teriaki Nori (dried, seasoned seaweed sheets), and good sticky rice (not Uncle Ben's, but not that sour, pasty variety, either).
