A Conversation for Solipsism
Berkeley's immaterialism
manolan Started conversation Sep 10, 2007
This sounds very similar to Berkeley's immaterialism which was beautifully summarised in two limericks by Ronald Knox:
There was a young man who said "God
Must find it exceedingly odd
To think that the tree
Should continue to be
When there's no one about in the quad."
"Dear Sir: Your astonishment's odd;
I am always about in the quad.
And that's why the tree
Will continue to be
Since observed by, Yours faithfully, God."

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
