A Conversation for RobiComb - the Coolest Reason to Have Lice

Pheroneous

Having a little interest in retail Pharmaceutical products (in UK, not USA) I have done some simple web based investigation and, apart from sales bumf, did find some words of caution as to the device's effectiveness and that some kids find the buzz zap sound distressing

Lice is a serious and distressing problem for many, and not to be taken lightly. Whilst this is a very good and well written entry, about a quirky subject (all good reasons for inclusion) the quirkiness of the product will have alerted you, I hope, and I trust that you undertook sufficient research to ensure that it was an effective and safe device. I really think there should have been some sort of disclaimer or health warning attached. Sorry to be a wet blanket.

Credit, though, to the author, and no criticism intended to him/her.

The author (myself) happens to be a medical researcher who specializes in this kind of thing (evaluating treatments for kids).

The RobiComb has been proven (in randomized controlled trials, the golden cow of medical science) to be *safer* than the normally used pediculocides (i.e., permethrin, malathion, lindane).

You can follow the link on the entry that says "medical studies" for one of my summaries of such a study.

Bad Bob

What about the poor Lice?
Have they ever tried to take over the world?

OK, well I'm reassured, given your credentials, with some reservations. Not all comment about this product seems favourable, see, for example, http://enquirer.com/editions/1999/09/29/loc_anti-lice_ammo.html.
