Could I suggest that you edit the entry to include a bit about learning from others? Most local bird groups are only too happy to take under their wings a person who has just taken up the hobby. Going on outings with more experienced birders is a really good way to learn birdwatching. You can pick up an awful lot of useful tips from other birdwatchers.
