Taunton Tigers now compete in the English Basketball League Division One, and Ballers (the basketball shop) ceased trading some time last year.

Hatcher's and Debenham's are, of course, big DEPARTMENT stores, not merely clothes stores.

Also, the Old Market Centre isn't a shop, it's a shopping centre. And not a particularly good one, either.

It's 'Goodlands Gardens' and not 'the Goodland Gardens' which is mentioned a couple of times.

Perkin Warbeck has a very large Wetherspoon's pub named after him on East Street, in the town centre. The low prices means it is very well-used by the younger crowd and acts as the centre of the town's night life.

The livestock market moved to North Petherton, just off the M5 motorway between Bridgwater and Taunton. There is a massive scheme ongoing to redevelop and regenerate the former market and other riverside land known as (originally enough) Project Taunton but it will be interesting to see how this proceeds in the current economic climate.

And if you ask me, the whole thing would read much much better if all the history bit was moved to the end after 'places to visit'.

By the way, the dodgy pub near Taunton railway station in which the first big conversation between Arthur and Fenchurch happens closed down ages ago, and is now a resturant called China China. I had my leaving do there.

The Entry was started by a Researcher from the area but I rescued it from the FM, even though I've never seen the place. I'll attend to your points a bit later (possibly the weekend now) although it's my usual style to begin with history, so I may not alter that. I'll let you know when I've updated
