Pumpkin soup is delicious. however, there is only so much you want of it at one time.smiley - winkeye
A different way of disposing of pumpkin flesh is
Apple and Pumpkin Marmalade:
-Cut 2 lb of pumpkin flesh into bits (no seeds!)
-peel and cut 2 lb of cooking apples
-boil until mushy
-stir in 2 lb of jam sugar (or 4 lb, depending on the type of sugar you're using)
-boil for about 4 minutes (or until it will gel when you put a drop of iton a little plate)
-fill into clean screw-top glasses and close the lid tightly
-leave to cool and listen for the lovely "plop" sound of the lids
-enjoy pumpkin marmalade all winter or give away as a home-made Xmas present! It actually tastes great.

A turnip jack o'lantern is made much the same way as a pumpkin - except : the little b***s are extremely unpleasant to empty since they are quite solid! So : select a turnip and a sharp knife. Cut top off. Get ice-cream scoop or similar (sharp-edged, spoon-like) object and scrape out insides as much as possible. carve face. insert candle. light. watch glow. have hot bath to get rid of ache in arm muscles. smiley - winkeye

Don't chuck away your pumpkin seeds this Hallowe'en.

Alays remember a wo*k colleague of mine extolling the virtues of 'pumpkin nuts' as an aphrodisiac.

Apparently, central Europeans believed that pumpkin seeds increased testosterone by preserving the prostate gland. Certainly pumpkin seeds contain high levels of magnesium, which has proven effective in the treatment of prostate gland problems. Pumpkin seeds are also good source of zinc and phosphorous, both of which are important nutrients for sexual function in men, zinc being important for sperm motility. (This is why eating oysters, as advocated by Casanova, is s'posed to be good for the male libido).

Go here for a recipew on how to prepare pumpkin seeds:

One website recommends one to
'Try eating them naked, by candlelight, whilst listening to Serge Gainsbourg'.smiley - winkeye

Enjoy.
