A Conversation for Trees of Time and Place

If I remember correctly, there has been a similar project in Tunisia, supported or even initiated by the government.
Is there any initiative like that in Germany as well? I live in a place surrounded by woodlands, but most of the trees are all of the same kind. I'd prefer a greater variety around, not just caring for one individual sapling.

In the US, the National Arbor Day Foundation serves much the same purpose. And they give away 10 free trees to all who join their organization.
They also offer guidelines for planting and growing trees and cut-rate prices for saplings to encourage you to plant trees locally!

Besides checking your link, will they agree members from overseas?

I think the Arbor Day Foundation is strictly a US organization, but I'm not sure. You could probably find your answers at the site's website.
