NCP are justly proud of the amenity they provide to the commercial centres of Great Britain. Their press releases are often entitled "NCP acquires...". They have been operating for nearly 60 years. In fact a little basic arithmetic reveals that the inception of the company coincides with the advent of carpet bombing of UK cities by the Luftwaffe. The ingenious solution to the problem of people's houses being bombed out of existence was to buy the land, clear it and provide space for motor vehicles to park. An environmental impact assessment, were such a thing in existence at the time, would undoubtedly have found such industry totally unsupportable. The founder of NCP was one of Britains first post-war millionaires.
