A Conversation for The Phoenix

The Iranian Phoenix

In Iran the name "Simurgh" is used - which literally also means "Thirty Birds". There is also a beautiful poem by Faridedin-e-Attar about a group of birds who start out to find the king off all birds - the Phoenix. After many adventures and separations only 30 of them reach where the Phoenix should be - and find out that they themselves through all what they have learned and endured are the "Phoenix" - the "Simurgh".

I wish I could tell more but it seems that all our reference books will be unpacked soonest in 3 month smiley - sadface .
