A fascinating article.
I was intrigued to read that they had no metal tools. How did they cut the stones of their great buildings and then carve them so intricately?

Hi Vestboy,
The simple answer is that they carved soft stone using harder stones! Obsidian and basalt were their main tool-making materials.

I wondered if that was the case or whether they had some very clever way of doing it that has been lost in the mists of time.
