The new Imperial College rebranding has been revealed. It is quite simply a travesty.
The old coat of arms has gone to be replaced with simply the words 'Imperial College - London' in blue. Hardly worth however much money was thrown into the change.
Apart from that the email and internet address has changed from ic.ac.uk to imperial.ac.uk. I suppose not really a large issue but it takes longer to type!
There have also been strict instructions that the use of 'ic' be discouraged and that the full title of the college 'Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine' be replaced with either 'Imperial' or 'the college' as if there is only one.
From first hand experience I can tell you that the quality of the stationary has fallen considerably and that the new logo is frowned upon by all who work here.
After the failure to get the blessed merger last year, it surprised me that they even went ahead with the rebranding, especially as it sucks (for lack of a better term).
Richard Sykes (Sir) should stop whatever plans he has for this college and listen someone with more people skills like Pol Pot, after all, no one wants another SmithKlien disaster on our hands.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
