Not to be a whiner but it is important to break out of the geocentric mindset which sees our home planet as a plate of dirt and rock. The planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and so on all deserve their names to be regarded as proper nouns just as do towns such as Filey, Whitby and Scarborough (my childhood play places).
