Has anybody read "Vox"? (It's by Nicholas Baker if I'm not completely mistaken.)
I've only read it in german and in the translation they used the word "schrummeln" for (female) masturbation. I really like this word it sounds so funny!!! 
Does anybody know the word used in the english original??? I'd love to know!!!

Yep! I think so too!!! One of the very (!) rare cases where I actually like the translation better than the original... .
