2003: Borussia Dortmund still fighting for existence – but the level has changed.

Since 1997 Borussia Dortmund managed to establish themself as one of the top five football-clubs in the German Bundesliga. 2002 they finished the season on the first place. 2003 on the third one.
But still they are fighting for existence. Only the level has changed. A few years ago, Dortmund was the first German club becoming a joint-stock company. Now it is essential for the club to get into the European Champions League.
Unfortunately in the actual season of 2003 they failed to reach this objective.
Now they are no longer part of the big game and their stock is going down. Future will show how they will compensate this bad blow.
